Evreux
The terrible bombardments of 1944 by the allies transformed the authentic Evreux, that of before.
It is a city that has been rebuilt for more than half but, very fortunately, which has been able to safeguard a valuable historical, architectural and artistic heritage.
The remains of the Gallo-Roman ramparts, the Belfry, completely renovated in the early 2000s, the museum in the former episcopal palace, the imposing and majestic Notre-Dame cathedral, in its flamboyant Gothic style, the Saint-Taurin abbey church and its famous hunt, half-timbered houses... are the best examples.
It is pleasant to take the green line which overlooks the town of Evreux or to walk along the water along the banks of the Iton in the city center offering a view of the old washhouses.

In fine weather, the café terraces come alive and concerts are organised. Evreux has never ceased to vibrate to the rhythm of music and remains, even today, one of the most "rock'n'roll" towns in Normandy. On the last weekend of June, don't miss the Festival Rock in all its states.
